Matt Mehdizadeh
Founder, President & Chief Executive OfficerMatt Mehdizadeh is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of MAAD Construction Inc. and a graduate of the USC Marshall School of Business with a specialization in Real Estate Development. With more than eight years of experience in the construction and development industry, he has played a central role in the successful execution of multiple ground-up multifamily developments across Los Angeles ranging from $10 million to $25 million in value.
During his tenure at Category Construction, Matt served in superintendent and project management leadership roles and was directly involved in the delivery of all the company’s projects, guiding them from preconstruction through completion while overseeing subcontractor coordination, scheduling, inspections, budget management, and agency approvals. Matt established and developed the company’s core subcontractor network and personally led the negotiation and structuring of subcontract agreements across multiple trades, building long-term relationships with trusted trade partners that strengthened project execution and cost control.
He has also cultivated strong working relationships with city inspectors, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, and LADWP utility coordination teams, helping streamline approvals, inspections, and utility integration throughout the construction process. In addition, Matt implemented vertically integrated construction strategies by bringing key trades in-house—including concrete, framing, drywall, millwork, and finishing—allowing greater control over cost, schedule, and project quality.
Parallel to his construction leadership, he has syndicated and operated multifamily investments ranging from $3 million to $15 million in asset value, providing a strong owner’s perspective on capital performance, risk management, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
